Caring Lexy
By Joe
Summary: Set in the first episode, Lexy reacts upon encountering Chucky in the basement. This is somewhat of a crack fic.
Author Notes: I do not own Chucky, its characters, or any other copyrighted material. I wrote this solely for entertainment purposes and not to make a profit.
Also, this is the first official story of mine posted using HTML formatting to both FFN and AO3. I plan to post subsequent new stories using HTML – although new chapters of old, unfinished stories will still be uploaded as Microsoft Word documents on FFN. However, the displayed formatting on FFN should not be any different than in past stories on FFN since it does not preserve formatting like text justification. That has been one of the reasons why I am interested in using AO3 in addition to FFN (though I learned that text justification might not be easy to implement using HTML on AO3) – as well as the fact that I have recently read that FFN might be in danger of closing perhaps within a few years and that stories might not be archived – as well as the apparent lack of maintenance on FFN (others besides me apparently have had trouble with e-mail notifications). Also, since I am obsessed with formatting, I would like to mention that, although I intend to post basically the same content on both FFN and AO3, the content displayed on the two sites might differ slightly from each other (the same might be true of the content’s source code), and the content’s source code on both sites likely will differ slightly from the content’s original HTML file(s), which can be viewed on Jemascolia – my website.
Also, I respectfully ask that users not make any fanfic requests of me. Additionally, please don’t hint at requests (e.g. “I know that you’re not doing requests, but it would be cool to see a fic written about…”). Again, please do not make any fanfic requests – or hint at them. Thank you.
Lucas Wheeler stood alone in front of the circuit breaker in his dark basement – trying to figure out why the house had no electricity. The auto shop worker glared as he kept flipping a few switches to no avail. Then, the incandescent bulb above Lucas buzzed as it illuminated, and Lucas turned to look – wondering how that happened. He then turned his head back toward the switches but now noticed something new. Standing in front of him was a red-haired and blue-eyed doll wearing blue overalls and a rainbow-striped shirt.
The dark-haired man furrowed his brow. This was his fourteen-year-old teenage son’s doll. He was so mad at Jake that he didn’t want to be reminded of him, but why was that damned doll in the basement – standing on its own? Was the doll actually staring and smirking at Lucas now? His expression now seemed quite different from his usual cheerful smile.
Suddenly, the doll glowered at Lucas. The man stumbled back – trembling that he now knew that this doll was ALIVE. Suddenly, the doll bent down his head. “BLEEEGH!” he groaned as he started vomiting liquid.
Lucas felt his heart pounding under his dark blue coveralls as he continued trembling and hyperventilating. He looked down and saw two exposed wires emitting sparks in the puddle of vomit, which was growing larger by the second. Was this doll trying to KILL him? Lucas looked at the doll again. This LIVING doll was still groaning while vomiting with an arrogant look in his eyes. When he thought about it, the doll’s seemingly random vomiting, the noise that he made while doing so, and the arrogant look on his face while doing so was strangely hilarious. Lucas felt himself breathing more slowly as he began to relax – taking a few steps back from the puddle.
Then, the sound of boots slapping against the wooden basement stairs grew louder and louder, but nobody in the basement seemed to notice. Suddenly, a new, panicked face emerged from the darkness. She sparkled thanks to her sequined dress with red, green, blue, silver, and pink stripes. The teenage girl’s eyes and mouth were wide open as she bent down.
“Oh, Chucky, you’re throwing up!” the blonde-haired girl gasped. She grabbed and lifted up the shaking doll – whose eyes and mouth briefly widened in shock. “Are you having a seizure?” He then glared and immediately started flailing his arms and legs and shouting in a raspy voice as he stopped vomiting.
“Lexy, let go of me!” demanded Chucky.
Ignoring the doll, Lexy said, “We’ve got to take your temperature and take you to the hospital! Now, come on, and let’s go upstairs.” As Lexy turned and began to walk toward the stairs, Lucas raised an eyebrow and couldn’t help but let out a few chuckles. Chucky then opened his mouth wide and chomped on Lexy’s left arm.
“OW!” cried Lexy as she dropped Chucky – who tumbled on the floor before standing up and running back toward the exposed wires. Suddenly, his eyes bulged again as he felt a pair of hands tightly grabbing his waist and lifting him off the ground again. He felt a little dizzy and felt vomit racing up his throat as Lexy turned him to face her.
“Put me down at once!” cried Chucky – who immediately pounded his fists on Lexy’s shoulders. He then flashed a wicked grin and sprayed liquid vomit in the girl’s face. “BLEEEGH!” the doll groaned proudly – cackling as Lexy’s shrieks bounced off the basement walls.
“Chucky, you ruined my hair!” snapped Lexy – her eyes almost red from fury. “But…” she sighed, “this just shows that you really are sick and need to get some help. Anyway, you made me realize something at the talent show. I’ve been a bully to Jake, and that’s been wrong. Thanks to you, I’ve decided to be a more caring person.” She looked at Lucas. “Are you okay?”
Lucas nodded. “Yeah, I am. Thanks.”
As Lexy felt Chucky squirming more forcefully and almost slipping out of her grip, she dug in her nails – causing him to yelp. “YOU’LL BE SORRY, YOU BITCH!” shouted the doll.
Lexy glared at Chucky. “You need to watch your language, but I know that you’re cranky from your illness. Being a bully is no fun, but I’m going to make sure that we all help you overcome this illness.” Lexy said as she smiled and gave Chucky a tight hug.
Lucas smiled and walked over. “And I’m going to be nicer to Jake.”
Chucky then delivered a sharp kick to Lexy’s leg – causing her to squeal, bend down slightly, and drop him. The doll then ran toward the basement stairs while screaming, “AAAGGGHHH!!!”
Lexy and Lucas frowned as they watched Chucky scramble up the stairs. They then stared above as they heard thumping – followed by a door slam. The two then looked at each other.
“Do you think that he’s going to the hospital on his own?” Lexy asked – raising an eyebrow. Lucas just threw his head back and laughed.
